Welcome to St. Paul's

Welcome from the Rector

Many centuries ago, St. Paul wrote to a young assembly of Christians debating who belonged in their community. Paul told them "there is no longer Jew or Greek, there is no longer slave or free, there is no longer male and female; for all of you are one in Christ Jesus."

Nearly two thousand years later, St. Paul's Episcopal Church is a community of people from all walks of life in the Walla Walla Valley, being made one in Christ Jesus.

We gather as a community, from many different backgrounds and in very different lives, to dive deep into scripture, to hold one another in prayer, and for Christ to feed us in the sacrament of the Holy Eucharist.

In the process, we are changed  as we see just how much God has given us - and how we are constantly touched by God's boundless mercy, love, and grace. Together in community, we find that we are changed as we are given power by the Holy Spirit to grow more and more as Jesus' disciples.

And as we are changed, we also believe we are sent out to love and serve our God and neighbor, following the example of Jesus, who first loved us. We may come from many places, but we leave together as faithful disciples of Jesus Christ.

We are all made one in Christ Jesus. We are made one as we gather, made as one when we are changed by grace, and made one when we are sent forth.

We believe Jesus when he says that by his life, death, and resurrection, "I will draw all people to myself." Following his example, St. Paul's warmly invites all people - of all ages, races, means, politics, sexual orientations, and gender identities - to grow as Jesus' disciples together with us and fully participate in our church's sacramental life. When we are made one in Jesus Christ, the artificial divisions we draw among ourselves crumble.

So whether you are making the first steps toward spiritual growth or are years into your spiritual journey; whether you are of deep faith or of none at all; no matter who you are, and no matter where you find yourself in this life; no matter what brings you to our door, it is our prayer that you will come and grow as one in Christ Jesus with us.

Welcome to St. Paul's. We are so glad you are here.
