Serve

We strive to be a "the church that serves" - a community that shows God's love to the Walla Walla Valley and to the world.

Outreach Projects

Our parish strives to serve our wider community as a reflection of Jesus, God who came "not to be served, but to serve." Throughout the years, we have undertaken various outreach projects in the Walla Walla Valley, and we continue to be open to new ways we can serve our community:

  • Quarterly Service Opportunities are a new bedrock of our recent Strategic Discernment - offering times throughout the year where we can be "the church that serves" - seeking to provide our hearts and hands to ministries in our area. A recent project with Hope Heals provided an abundance of donations for those moving from homelessness to housing, while an upcoming project with Camp Amanda will help prepare activities for Valley children grieving loss through the work of Walla Walla Valley Hospice. • Hope Street is a clean and sober living home for women struggling with substance use disorder housed in the St. Paul's Rectory at 303 Catherine Street. St. Paul's has given use of the Rectory to Hope Street, an accredited non-profit, to create a warm, welcoming, and inviting space for women to continue their recovery. Volunteers also provide building support and maintenance at no charge. Find out more on Hope Street's website at hopestreethomes.org

  • Red Cross Blood Drives are co-hosted with Kiwanis several times each year to help the Red Cross collect blood donations to be used around our community and region. You can register to give blood directly with the Red Cross at redcrossblood.org.

  • Coats for Kids hosts its local storehouse at St. Paul's, and we help to support the collection and distribution of coats to keep folks warm throughout the Walla Walla Valley.

  • 12-Step Programs (such as AA and AlAnon) are given use of our facilities at minimal cost to host meetings and help promote health and wholeness for those suffering from addiction.

  • Cub Scouts and Scouts provide opportunities for Boys and Girls in our community to grow in citizenship, undertake common projects, and build character together.

  • Outreach Grants each year support Episcopal Relief and Development, Helpline, Doctors Without Borders, Heifer International, and other worthy non-profits undertaking incredible work for the alleviation of poverty worldwide.

  • Past outreach projects have included the purchase and forgiveness of over $2.1 million in medical debt in the Walla Walla Valley and statewide, preparation of Take-Home Packs for food insecure children in our local school system, and the support of local food pantries.
